Mic

Two days after hundreds of New York Police Department officers turned their backs on New York Mayor Bill de Blasio during the funeral of slain Officer Rafael Ramos, dozens more booed and heckled the city's civilian leader during a police academy graduation ceremony at Madison Square Garden.

+ Police Commissioner William Bratton told CBS and NBC on Sunday that he disapproved of the controversial memorial service protest. "To bring politics or to bring issues into that event, I think, was very inappropriate," he said. "I do not support it."

+ Mic's Gregory Krieg: The NYPD is shamefully using the murder of two police officers to settle old political scores.

+ #BlackLivesMatter must move beyond protests — or risk losing the fight for racial justice.

+ New poll shows one surprising point of consensus between Democrats and Republicans on police reform.
